I’m obsessed with continuing education.

Having been in the tax world for well over 20 years, I must admit my favorite time of year is Federal Tax Return Update time. Typically in December or January each year, Tax Professionals come together for intensive studies about the past tax year and what to expect the next tax year. As a young accountant, I always looked forward to the day-long event that our firm participated in. In 2020, after 18 years in the tax return world, I was provided an opportunity to join a multi-day tax webinar (squee!) and I was stoked - 3 FULL DAYS OF TAX LEARNING! Throughout each lecture, I realized that I needed to do something extra for my career, so I set out to become an Enrolled Agent. I studied and studied, took test upon test (passing them all, of course, smarty-pants that I am), and finally earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS as an Enrolled Agent. I spent the next three years experiencing the virtual world of tax pros, preparing complex partnership and individual tax returns (heavy on real estate investments) and learning how to find and implement income tax saving opportunities.

And then in 2024 I started Ask Anna Tax!

As an EA I have the pleasure of working with, advocating for and strategizing with individuals as we create tax savings strategies based on each specific client’s need. I am especially proud to support Women- and LGBTQ+ owned businesses. And I love sharing tax advice that can save my clients thousands of tax dollars!!
